It is a good sized, very Spanish town with a lively and interesting market on Fridays. The local golden beaches of Torre de la Horadada are a 2-minute drive away and stretch 5 km along the coast with beautiful calm waters and plenty choice of water sports. These beaches have been awarded the Blue Flag Award which signifies the top condition of the beach and the waters. Pilar is located centrally between Alicante and Murcia and has seen many battles down the ages for supremacy.
